Hardships of Hazara Community

The murder of Karima Baloch took the world by shock and the world was talking about how Pakistan has kept on silencing dissenting voices even on foreign lands. Pakistan saw the world was talking about it and to defer the attention of the world from one murder they did multiple others. 11 People of the Hazara Community were brutally killed in Muchh Tehsil in Bolan District of Balochistan.

This is not the first time that the Hazara Community suffered the atrocities of the State of Pakistan.

Around 100,000 Hazaras migrated from Afghanistan in 1901, to come and live in Balochistan. Initially they made Mariabad their home, now most of them are settled in the western side of Quetta. Now there are 400,000+ Hazaras living in and around Quetta.

Hazara is a peaceful community with most of the people engaged in Labour work. Many of them earn their livelihood by working in mines in Quetta, Balochistan.

The largest chunk of the Hazara Community works in the Coal Mines of Duki Tehsil of Loralai District.

Many Hazaras have also started moving into the field of Business. Many of them are educated.

As human beings everyone is with teary eyes because of this grave tyranny at the hands of Pakistan Government. Hazaras continually face these types of atrocities being levied on them.

In the times of Nawab Aslam Raisani, a bomb blast in Quetta left many Hazaras dead, then the family members of the martyrs denied burial of their bodies until justice was served.

This is the second time when Hazaras protested denying burial of bodies of the Martyrs. In a heart wrenching case there is not a single male alive who can bury the other martyrs of the family.

In the bone chilling winter of Quetta, Hazaras are protesting against this tyranny that is being served to them by the Pakistan Government. People are protesting with the bodies of the Martyrs with the demand to not to bury them until justice is served.

Protesters are demanding to meet the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, and only after that they will bury the bodies. On 8th Januray Pakistani Prime Minister has said that, “If the family members of the dead Hazaras bury their bodies, he will come and meet them the same day.”

People of the Hazara Community are protesting since 11 Hazaras were killed on the evening of 3rd January 2021. It has been six days since the protesters are demanding justice with the bodies of Hazara martyrs.

The Government of Pakistan has always levied atrocities on the Hazara community. The Government of Pakistan should stop the Punjab supremacy and needs to treat other people as Human Beings.
